Proud Writers

It is always amazing to reflect back and see how far students have come in just a few short months! They have worked hard to master many spelling rules!

Puppet Performance!

We all had a wonderful time with our artist in residence! Students created their own puppet and learned a short routine to perform in front of the school. Impress stuff for only having 5 days!

Valentine’s Day Picnic!

We ended our day today with some special treats and even enjoyed them picnic style (our room was still not quite in order after our ‘fort reading’ celebration)! I think we had some happy kids!

100th Day Fun!

We were busy in a very good way on Friday! Celebrating 100 days of first grade is a big deal!

Assessments

In preparation for upcoming report cards and parent/teacher conferences students have been working hard to produce work samples in math, reading, and writing. I look forward to sharing your child’s progress with you soon!

Groundhog Day Puppets (better late than never!)

Friday, February 1st was World Read Aloud Day and we celebrated by having our entire school read aloud at 2:15! Mrs. Mulcahy’s class came in and joined us for the Great Fuzz Frenzy. Afterwards we made groundhog puppets to predict the weather.

Indoor Recess Fun!

The icy playground may have limited our outside time last week at school, but children still found ways to have fun during inside recess.
